New Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Supports Reliable Data Access for Remote Office Users
ATA Engineering (ATA) is a company focused on technology innovation. The San Diego, California-based engineering firm is a recognized leader in the development of innovative test and analysis methods for aerospace and defense structures, supplying solutions to countries around the world.
To achieve this, ATA needed an IT infrastructure that would keep up with the high demands of its technical engineering teams, many of which work in remote offices. To support its employees ATA had amassed a 100 TB data center with more than 100 virtual machines. And the infrastructure was growing fast. Veristor helped ATA develop its requirements for a new, modern infrastructure that would include the redesign and reconfiguration of its core network with faster, higher-capacity HPE 3PAR SAN storage and high-performance HPE Blade Servers. To support ATA’s growing remote workforce, which includes offices in Los Angeles, Colorado, Virginia and Alabama, Veristor also helped to architect a new virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) solution with VMware Horizon and Citrix load balancers. The resulting turn-key solution delivered the long-term scalability and performance ATA needed, with a capital financing payment structure that kept costs consistent.
As a result, ATA is benefitting from its high-performance environment, and its users, both on-site and remote, are realizing rapid access to their centrally-stored enterprise data through the new VDI workspaces.
